THE TEMPERANCE HALL
HESKET NEWMARKET, WIGTON, CUMBRIA CA7 8JG

Holiday Cottage ~ Lake District National Park
A spacious self-catering cottage in the Northern Fells
The quiet, pretty village of Hesket Newmarket, about twelve miles north of Keswick, lies just inside the northern boundary of the Lake District National Park. The village is well-known for its co-operatively owned pub, The Old Crown.
Our cottage, in the heart of the village, was once a Temperance Meeting Hall and is a listed building probably at least two hundred years old. In the nineteenth century it was a liquor store for one of the many pubs that were in the village at that time and in 1984 it was converted for residential use. It has been our family holiday home since 1986.
